First of all thank you again for visiting Animehalo's Chobits section. Chobits portray to us a reality that is filled with social norms that are so thickly embedded that it takes a lot of courage and determinatino to break before you can find your true happiness. The show itself shows us many real life happenings and it was not shy to give us the inside views of our average everyday eighteen year old boy and his fantasies about women This in turns lets us understand what we are really thinking off and actually showing us his dreams and desires. However what is more important to us for this series is that it tells us that no matter what we are, we should follow the route that is right for us and to achieve happiness not by the pull of society but our own independent thoughts. If we followed the social norms, would we be like robots who are pre-programmed? Or are we higher beings that could provide self motivated actions? And that is what Freya and Eurda were created for, and in the end of the series we see that Chii ( Eurda ) finally understands and changes her thoughts and grants other persocons that same emotional thinking and freewill abilities. It is not what we are that is separating us, but what we think we are and if we really want to can we break free from the bindings of society and follow our hearts? If after the series you think that its a perverted show about sexual desires of men or that all men want young wifes and related thoughts, maybe you have not seen the real meaning in what messages an anime can actually bring forth. Its animes like these which have deeper meaning that makes it worthwhile to watch them. |
