Epsiode 21 It turns out that our Kojima guy is also a pro with servers as we see a bok on red hat Linux on his table. The focus shifts to Hideki again as he meets up with Minoru and Yuzuki. Hideki relates everything to the both of them and Yuzuki tells the both of them that she thinks that becayse Minoru posted on the BBS that the public came to know about it and someone may have taken interest in Chii and wanted to kidnap her. Minoru was taken back as he has never thought of it... on running out, Hideki meets up with Ueda and finds that he was looking for Chii as well and thus they starts looking for her together. Yumi was following them. When they asked one of the store ladies, we came to know that Ueda used to keep a Persocon as well and she informs him that if she sees anything she will contact them. Thanking her they left. After a fruitless search, Ueda buys Hideki a drink from a vending machine and Hideki shows his concern about Chii and then a phone calls comes over and it was from Shinbo. Shinbo tells hi that Tatako agreed to marry him but Hideki pushes him off because he was too concerned about Chii, but Shinbo warns him that Persocons are just programmed machines and they can't feel pain or hate and tells him to take it easy. Ueda seeing his saddness, wanted to talk to Hideki about something. his own experience. By the river they sits down to talk and Ueda tells Hideki that he was married before and he was married to a persocon!! It was many years back when he went to the electric store and he looked around for a persocon and he found one that he was looking for but it was an old model but he did not care and bought her. He activated her and by time he started to be very comfortable in her presence and later decided to get married with her. Even though people laughed, he did not care, he just wanted to be with the one he loved. But something happened... ... She started to break down as he main storage memory started to fail and she started to forget bit by bit if their life and to the extend that she can't even remember things that happen the very next second... He brought her to the store for reapirs but it was hopeless. Though Ueda never gave up hope on her but one day something broke everything. While crossing the street, a lorry came by, her persocon and wife, Yumi suddenly ( strangely ) pushed him away to avoid him getting killed by the on coming vehicle and was in turn destroyed. This was very strange indeep because without a memory, a Persocon will not do such a thing but it happened and Ueda was very saddened by it. the death of his beloved wife. Hideki after hearing this comforted him and told him that he believed that that Yumi was wanting to protect him and did not want him to gte hurt and that was why she saved him. ( personally what I think is that that Yumi at the spark of moment suddenly regained her memory and tried to save him. ) When he carried her again after the accident, all she was able to say was "Hello" and soon was destroyed beyond repair... ... Ueda tells him that even if the one they love is gone and even if the harddisk crashed, the memories of that person will still remain and that is what thats hold the person together and not just the flesh or machinery. The Yumi that was following them was hearing all this from afar and when she was spotted started to run away. They gave chase but she refused to talk to anyone and runs off into the night. Back at Minoru's place he searched the BBS for information and got some inside information about it and is starting to search the data for clues. Yuzuki suddeny gets an email and it was from the one that sent the email of the Chobit picture! Clips from the Epsiode
